The Blots return April 15th

The Blots return April 15th, originally uploaded by doombilly.

Hey now, The Blots (featuring a brand new rhythm section) triumphantly return to SKNET Cafe on April 15th. Michele Ari joins us (from Tampa FL) to start the show at 9:30pm. Then we will blaze through a little set, followed by The AltaEgos from Columbia SC. Next up is the cacophonous Rutkus from Stanly County. If you've not caught the Rutkus bug yet, grease up and come on down.
This is a test, had this been an actual emergency your pants would have been down.

Republican Robin Hayes Sees The Light (at least briefly)

Dear Doombilly,

Thank you for contacting my office regarding the President's Budget
proposal concerning the sale of public lands. I appreciate hearing your
thoughts on this important issue.

Recently, I sent a letter to the President expressing my opposition to
the Fiscal Year 2007 Budget Proposal for the Forest Service - Secure
Rural Schools and Community Self-Determination Act Extension.

As you may know, the FY 2007 Budget includes a proposal that authorizes
the sale of certain National Forest System Lands to provide funding for
an extension of the Secure Rural Schools Act. This proposal calls for
the sale or more than 300,000 acres of forestland nationwide, including
15,000 acres in North Carolina. In fact, this proposal would cut
almost 5 percent of the Uwharrie National Forest.

The Uwharrie National Forest one of our district's largest attractions,
and is a vital component for economic development in the region. The
towns and communities in the area depend on tourism from those visiting
these pristine forest lands. This initiative could threaten the
Uwharrie National Forest, therefore I urged the President to develop a
different proposal to assist funding the Secure Rural Schools and Community
Self-Determination Act.

The House has yet to issue its budget for the upcoming year. Rest
assured, I will keep your thoughts in mind as Congress continues to address
the protection of public lands.

Thank you again for sharing your concerns with me. It is an honor to
serve as your United States Representative, and I look forward to
tackling the issues 8th District constituents sent me here to address. Please
know that I have assembled what I believe is the most responsive and
courteous staff in Congress. Your suggestions are always welcome, and if
ever we may be of assistance, please do not hesitate to call.

Sincerely,
Robin Hayes
Member of Congress

Senator, when you took your oath of office, you placed your hand on the Bible and swore to uphold the Constitution. You didn't place your hand on the Constitution and swear to uphold the Bible.

the blots news

Ok folks thanks for standing by. We've had another lineup change. Bassist Henry Gordon, who had been with us since Frocky Jack expired and The Blots began has called it quits. Henry and his wife Jessica had a life changing event last year and are trying to raise the li'l crumb-snatcher and maintain a little family familiarity. We wish them all the best of luck.
Filling out the big bottom in The Blots now will be Mike Scarlata. It is ironic that since Mike and drummer John Ehlers both played together in Neglected Sheep about the same time Eric Cook and I were playing in Frocky Jack. Even odder that they are about the only band in Charlotte of our 'genre' that we never were with on the same bill.
Next Show: April 15 2006 SKNET CAFE with (tentatively) Rutkus, Tax Slaves.

heard it through the Newsvine

ejohnson.newsvine.com There is something extremely disgraceful about a world in which the three wealthiest people have more financial assets than the poorest ten percent of the world’s population, combined (Wikipedia).

If you don't have an invitation to NewsVine, PM me here or leave a comment. I'll send you one. Although I heard this is going to be released very soon.
