I'm gonna skip the obvious

...stories about Diebold getting the thumbs up by the NC Board of Elections and the 1000th execution in the US since reinstating capital punishment. Sometimes the news is just too crappy to repeat. Besides I'm hardly a journalist or someone that really anyone reads.
Instead, go here and read 6 poems by Buck Downs. Have a good weekend. Spend some time with loved ones.

Diebold is one of the most underreported stories ever. Why does the mainstream "liberal" media refuse to cover this? There is nothing more sacred to a democracy than the integrity of its voting system but we seem content to just stick our fingers in our ears and hum everything is just fine, despite all the evidence pointing to the contrary.

And I am willing to bet, thanks to the media, about 1 in 100 people, if that, even knows what "diebold" is.

When Arnold went to cast his vote in the special election and it had him down as already having voted, hardly anyone saw the significance of that, least of all the media. And hundreds of millions of dollars have been spent on diebold systems so there is no going back now and of course, diebold is a republican corporation. Why arent the dems raising hell? I am almost as disgusted with them as I am with the GOP these days.

Well put, Stacy. It does f*(king suck.
In NC we just mandated that we'll have all new voting machines up and running by the spring. Here in Charlotte (Mecklenburg BOE) we've had fine machines that make a paper tape as well as a magnetic one. The machines are 10 yrs old and have never given us any problem. There's something crooked going on in Raleigh. That would be my guess. I worked from 1999 to 2005 in my precinct as a transfer agent or dem judge working the election. I never had problems with the existing machines.
And hey, thanks for posting a comment. I guess you found me bc I added you to my blogroll?
